Sydney Australia, John Daly smashed a spectators camera into a tree during a 6-over 78 first round at the Australian Open.
Daly continues to add to his resume of screw-ups and mishaps. Upon finding the ball he pushed far right on his final hole, he was obviously frustrated. At which point, he was approached by a spectator. According to Daly, he was snapping pictures from within six inches of his face. Daly quickly snatched the spectators’ camera, and threw it against a tree during a 6-over 78 in the first round.
Daly traveled to Australia for a three-tournament trip. All of which he missed the cut.
Daly is having a bad year, in fact, his career quickly on the decline. This is the first of many obstructions in his tenure on the PGA Tour. Just this year, Daly spent the night in jail on October 27th. According to police, he was found intoxicated and uncooperative outside of a Hooters restaurant in North Carolina.
Daly is trying to finish the year on a positive note, which in his career have been few and far between. Daly hasn’t earned a tour card since 2006. In 2008 Daly made only five cuts in 17 tournaments and has earned %56,000 on the PGA Tour .
The two-time major winner, has quickly fallen down the rankings to 719. With a plethora of excuses, mishaps, misfortunes, bad luck, bad attitude, stupid decisions, addictions, a lack of work ethic and self discipline, it looks like Mr. John Daly has a rain cloud over his head. Until some drastic changes are made………………………………..again, golf may not be in his future.

For most golfers, the short game is where it counts. In fact the short game is said to be 60% or more of your total score. It makes sense that the way to improve would be the area where you likely practice the least and score the most. The fitting experts at Bob Burns Golf can help golfers select the right wedge and fitting options for their game. The result is sure to be lower scores just like the pros. With this tour quality service, golfers can choose your own design and specifications. Our master craftsmen can custom grind your wedge, or set of wedges, to almost any specification—from the shape of the toe, to bounce, heel-relief, lie angle, camber, type of finish, and even stamping color. You name it, they do it. With these custom-ground wedges feature a standard four-way camber, which provides only one point of contact with the turf. The contour of the sole keeps the leading edge of the clubface low, even when the face is opened, thus enhancing the versatility of your shots. A unique double-milled face provides an amazing response, and a “green-chewing” spin-rate that is three times greater than you may otherwise expect.
The Grinding Process
Two full years in development, the +/- wedge system is 100% custom ground and fir to your game, no matter your build or the level of your skill. Before each club is assembled, each raw edge is custom ground and shaped to your specifications, then polished or coated as desired—all by one of the master craftsmen at the facility in Appleton, Wisconsin. The loft of any wedge in the scoring-system set—a Gap Wedge of 52° (+/- 5°), a Sand Wedge of 56° (+/- 5°), and a Lob Wedge of 60° (+/- 5°)—can be adjusted anywhere from 5° stronger to 5° weaker to fit your individual needs and desires. Saturday the staff at Bob Burns Golf had a day of fun kids and parents of the Autism Society of the Fox Valley. The day was comprised of a group lesson, practice and lunch. Working with kids with speical needs and growing the game of golf is somthing we pride ourselves on. Personally, I can you that it would have touched your heart as it did mine to see the kids having fun with somthing new . To give the kids an opportunity to do something that most of which have never tried before was a fun and exciting experience.
The Group lesson itself was well structured. Broken down into four different stations. With ample time to learn about: driving, iron play, putting and chipping. The childern had an opportunity to learn about when to use what club, the fundamentals of each swing and some of the basic rules including ettiquete. In the end, the lesson was a sucess and a valuable learning opportunity for all of us.
